It’s taken me a while to come to a conclusion on the kind of pricing I wanted to offer. I had a general notion, but nothing concrete until I happened upon LETS (Local Exchange Trading System). It crystalised a few things for me.
1/ How to make a living whilst…
2/ Supporting start-ups, local artists and businesses
3/ Feeling that I was doing something positive and at the same time still having the amazing good fortune to have the energy and intent to follow a passion. Soooooooooo.
There are three pricing structures.
1/ Commercial rates – call for a quote.
2/ ‘Mates rates’ for local start-ups, local artists and local businesses. i.e. within a reasonable distance from Teddington, Middx.
3/ LETS. You may have skills, some unused kit or studio space to offer in return for my services as a photographer.
In short I appreciate the economic constraints of any kind of project and the amount of money it takes to get them off the ground and although I cannot always work for nothing I’m more than willing to try and support and encourage these type of projects in any way I can.
Budget, low budget, or no budget shouldn’t mean you can’t have some professional, well constructed and eye-catching images.
