A Beginning…

A Fire in the Sky

A Fire in the Sky

There are some events in life that can have a profound effect on you. A “Fire in the sky at Dawn” can be astounding, whereas standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon is something more profound. As a result of some of these events – some a little more mundane – I reached a quite simple quandry. Stay with what one knows,  continue with an opportunity that arrived with incredible timing over 5 years ago, or return to seek out those things that have excited and engaged and energised.

The decision to question the safety of a steadily increasing corporate (ish) life, and to not spend every waking hour contributing to someone else’s dreams and aspirations, is a priviledge.  And even though these thoughts and feelings have always been present nothing was done for quite a while. Until now.

I have spent some time and effort over the past few years working in various creative places. Writing, teaching, adult education, web design and development, comedy, theatre and photography. There has always been a creative aspect to most of the things I’ve done so far (less so in the past 5 years, but maybe that explains the urge to return to that space?) and photography has returned once again so after much practice, navel gazing and humming and ahhing this space has finally come to fruition.
